Christmas Drinks

What are your favorite Christmas drink recipes?

I've got:
Eggnog
Cider
Rum
Brandy
All manner of seasonings
A crock pot
A stove top and oven

But you don't have to work with those. Anything you like, I'd like!

I have a thing for Kirsberry cherry wine at christmas -it just tastes like christmas in a glass to me.

If you are looking to be more adventurous I made Butterbeer last winter and I think it would go down a storm at chrimbo - that recipe is incredibly rich though - you could probably stir in some gelatine and set it into a lovely dessert.

Me and my mum have a thing for cherry brandy at Christmas, I'm assuming it's similar to Kirsberry cherry wine?

pretty much - Compared with Bols cherry brandy it is thinner and less syrupy, not as boozy and with a rather more refined cherry flavour

I make homemade eggnog with spiced rum in it. But we're using the store-bought stuff today because I've already been a badass in the kitchen and just don't have the time or energy

I used this recipe when making it homemade: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/amazingly-good-eggnog/

I always make Spiced Cider. I can't find the recipe online I use for it, but pretty much it's a very small amount of lemon juice, and 3 parts apple cider with 2 parts orange juice (or less, this is pretty much to taste) heated on the stove, and you put cardamom, cinnamon, star anise (mulling spices) in a small cheesecloth pouch and float it in there. I usually cook it on med-high heat (just enough to keep it close to boiling but not boiling) for about 45 minutes or until it's good and fragrant. You can serve it warm (which is amazing) or chill it in the fridge and drink it later (which is equally as amazing and this is usually what I have with breakfast).

Depending on what seasonings you have, you could make some spiced eggnog spike: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Kentucky-Eggnog-Spike-102341

My husband and I have made that one for many years, and it's great.

Mulled wine! Or mulled cider.

Don't use carbonated cider by the way. We did one year and it was revolting. Use scrumpy if you have it :D

Mulled wine (Glühwein), Baileys or Wiśniówka (Polish cherry vodka) are all very Christmassy.

Mulled cider can also be delicious.

Yesterday in a German supermarket we were handed Jagermeister with hot chocolate which was surprisingly delicious.
