Ever since we sedated him he's been having trouble walking. He'll take a few steps and just fall over onto his back and then get up and keep walking. It doesn't seem to be bothering him and he's not in any pain that I can tell (he doesn't meow at all). He just...can't walk. He also hasn't eaten or drank very much as he's confined himself to under the couch (which is understandable as I already have two cats and, while they don't bully him while I'm home, he may be freaked out because nothing smells like him and is still uncomfortable in the new environment), so it's possible he's just woozy from lack of food. I got him to eat some apple sauce last night (his fave treat according to my mom) to get something in him and when I brought him over to the water he drank a lot, but he doesn't seem to want to go on his own to seek it out. I picked him up and took him into the litter box, but he just hopped right out again. It's been three days so there's no way that the sedatives are still in his system.
My mom's going to call his vet today to see if he has any ideas and I'm going to buy a can of tuna on my way home from work to see if I can get him to eat that. In the meantime, I'm posting this to see--does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, or how to make him more comfortable/get him to eat? I tried googling, but couldn't find anything about this effect after taking that sedative aside from while the cat is actually on it. :-/
