My sister and I sorta inherited a PS3 from my boyfriend - he got a new one when his old one stopped working, but turns out that it was a very simple fix.
Since then, we've had to take it back to the shop for one reason or another. It otherwise works okay, but their last repair really fucked it up. The console wouldn't turn on; as such, my sis couldn't take out the game she'd been playing. They fixed the console... but left the fucking game in the console while they did so. My boyfriend and my sis finally managed to eject the game, but now the console won't accept any discs. The shop said they couldn't fix it. At all.
I have literally no idea how the fuck to fix this (I've never owned a PS3 and I really don't know much about how they operate), and I'm afraid of taking the thing apart and permanently damaging it. I don't have nearly enough money to just purchase a new one, as tempting as it is.
So, AMA: has anyone had this happen? Any idea how I can fix this?
